Meet the Doctor

Dr. Stephen C. Jackson DC, CCSP, FICPA, FIACA Chiropractor

Dr. Jackson was born and raised in New Jersey.  He did his undergraduate studies in Biology and Chemistry at Ramapo College of New Jersey. Dr. Jackson attended New York Chiropractic College, while there he obtained his Doctorate of Chiropractic.

As a child and young adult, Dr. Jackson had many different sports injuries that benefited greatly from chiropractic care.  Initially, Dr. Jackson had planned to become a medical general practitioner until he decided helping people avoid drugs and surgery would be more rewarding for him as he has personally experienced the amazing effects of chiropractic.

Cumberland Chiropractic Center was founded in 1953.  Dr. Jackson took over the practice in 1991.  Dr. Jackson and the Cumberland Chiropractic Team are focused on providing loving, compassionate, enthusiastic and extraordinary service.  He has extensive knowledge and training, treating injuries due to auto accidents, sports and injuries related to everyday life.  Dr. Jackson is pleased to offer chiropractic wellness care for the entire family, infant to elderly.

In his spare time Dr. Jackson enjoys spending time with his wife Yvonne and two grown children Bryan and Kristi.  He is an avid reader and loves doing projects around the house. He loves taking his dog Loki for long walks and is in the process of restoring his prized 1965 Volkswagen bus.

Post Graduate Degrees:

• C.C.S.P: Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician – Specific to treating injuries in athletes. Injury prevention and natural performance enhancement. From child athletes to weekend warriors to professional athletes.
• FIACA: Fellowship International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture – Applying the principles of acupuncture without the needles.
• FICPA: Fellowship International Chiropractic Pediatric Association – Natural chiropractic care for infants and children. Specific techniques focusing on treatments and nutrition for newborns thru the teen years. Also focusing adjusting techniques for moms during and after pregnancy.

Yvonne Jackson Office Manager/Chiropractic Assistant

Before taking over Cumberland Chiropractic Center in December 1991, Yvonne had the privilege, to gain experience, working for another chiropractor from North Jersey.  Knowing that her husband Dr. Jackson was attending Chiropractic College, they hired her as a Front Desk Chiropractic Assistant in 1985.  She learned so much from hands on experience as well as being given the opportunity to study and earn her Graduate degree from The Parker Seminar’s Chiropractic Assistant’s Program.

In December 1991 along with Dr. Jackson, they purchased Cumberland Chiropractic Center in South Jersey.  Renovating the house practice over the years to best suit the needs of our patients.  In the early years, Yvonne raised her children while also working as Office Manager. Hiring and overseeing the daily business of the staff.  Eventually they found that just the two of them made a great team.

Yvonne works the Front Desk, scheduling patients, answering phones, patient education/care and insurance.  She answers any questions and informs patients of their financial options.  She has learned a lot about chiropractic care and the benefits of having your spine checked.  Yvonne is a huge advocate of chiropractic and wellness, living what she teaches.  She loves to attend seminars and being around other people who are just as passionate about chiropractic and wellness.  The patients are an extension of her family and she is here to help in any means.  She strives to make sure every patient’s visit is a pleasant and positive experience.

Dr. Jackson and Yvonne have been married for 40years.  They have two grown children, Bryan, who lives in Philadelphia and Kristi who graduated from Georgian Court University majoring in dance.  When she’s not in the office she likes to spend time with her family and friends, crafting and baking.  She loves to be positive and is always laughing.  Her goal is to make sure you leave the office with a smile on your face and the feeling that Cumberland Chiropractic Center is the right place for all her patient’s chiropractic needs.
